Yes you can apply to our graduate programmes, as long as you meet the requirements for the specific programme you wish to apply to.

Can I apply for a job if I don’t meet the academic requirements?

Graduate Programmes and Internships

Our graduate programmes do not have an academic requirement, nor a degree classification. Please note that some graduate programmes may stipulate a degree discipline, so please do check individual programme requirements when applying.

Apprenticeships

Some of our apprenticeships do have academic requirements so please check the individual programme pages when applying.

We’re aware that mitigating circumstances such as a disability, a long-term health condition, illness or serious family problems may have prevented you from meeting certain academic criteria. We will take genuine mitigating circumstances into account. If you would like to talk to a recruiter regarding mitigating circumstances, please contact our Apprenticeships Team at schoolleavers@accenture.com and we will be in touch with you directly to discuss.

What’s your policy on visa sponsorship?

Accenture’s approach to recruitment is underlined by our core value of Best People and our principle of meritocracy. In short, Accenture seeks to attract, develop and retain the best talent for our business and to foster a fair, positive and inclusive environment. If you are interested in applying for a permanent role with Accenture, please note that Accenture is bound by current UK immigration rules and obligations. Do graduate roles require security clearance?

A number of our clients require security clearance due to the confidential nature of their work.  The criteria for security clearance is 5 years’ continuous address history in the UK (with supporting documentation). This means that sometimes we may need to limit the number of candidates employed who do not meet the criteria, in order to meet business need.

APPLICATION

When do applications close?

Please check individual programmes for closing dates. We receive an extremely high volume of applications for all programmes and it is sometimes necessary to close applications earlier than anticipated. We would recommend early application to avoid disappointment.

Can I make a speculative application by e-mail?

Applications must be made through our website. This rule applies to all of our programmes. Speculative applications by any other method (e.g. CV/Cover Letter) will not be considered.

How long with the application take?

The application should take you approximately 20 minutes.

How can I make sure I make a good application?

Take your time and read the questions carefully.  Make sure you input accurate information and double check your responses before submitting.  There will be an opportunity to tell us about your previous experiences including work, extra curricular and hobbies as well as any additional training or upskilling you may have undertaken.  Make sure you give as much information as you can in these sections, so that we can get to know you and review your application holistically.

When will I hear back from my application?

We receive a very high volume of applications and although we will endeavour to respond to you within 2- 3 weeks this may take longer in very busy periods. We will keep you updated on progress at every stage.

Can I get feedback on my application?

We receive thousands of applications so it isn’t possible to give individual feedback for applications.  However we do endeavour to make our application and assessment process as transparent as possible.  If you are unsuccessful at any stage, it may be because you have not met all of the criteria at this time.  However, we will have considered all of your skills and strengths in our decision.

Why do you request personal data at application stage?

During the application you will be asked questions about your ethnicity, disability, gender and other questions about your background. We ask these questions so that we can closely monitor diversity and inclusion but responses are not evaluated as part of your application.

Can I apply for different roles and you decide what I am suitable for?

Please take your time to review all the role information on the website and choose the role which you feel is the right fit for you. Please only apply to one programme and location at any one time.

If I am unsuccessful, can I reapply?

You will need to wait 6 months before reapplying. Candidates should only apply to one programme and location at any one time.

ASSESSMENT JOURNEY

How many stages are in the recruitment process?

There a several steps in our recruitment process which will help you get to know Accenture better and find out whether we are a good fit for you.   If successful at application stage, candidates will be invited to the Accenture Discovery Portal which is an online assessment bespoke to Accenture designed to evaluate your key skills and strengths whilst giving you an insight into life and work at Accenture.  Should you be successful at the Discovery Portal stage, you will be invited to a Task Based Interview with a recruiter where we share client scenarios and discuss with you how you might respond to certain situations and challenges.  The final stages are face to face interviews with a Manager from our business.  These interviews are mostly strength based but if you are applying for a technical role you will also be asked to take part in a technical interview to evaluate your capability.

Can I use Gen AI to help me complete my assessments?

Accenture is committed to technology innovation including harnessing the transformative power of AI.  We understand that Generative AI is a very useful tool to support application and interview preparation and we encourage the use of Generative AI when appropriate.  There will be an opportunity for you to use Generative AI tools in certain parts of the assessment process to help you showcase your research, creativity and problem-solving skills.  However, in the majority of the assessment process we request your authentic participation.  We want to see the real you – hear your thoughts and ideas and see how you approach challenges.  This will help us understand whether we can offer you a career opportunity where you can thrive.  Please read instructions carefully to understand when we request that you do not use Generative AI

Can I complete my online assessments and task based interview on my phone?

Our assessments are mobile friendly; however we would strongly recommend you complete on a laptop/desktop in full screen mode. We would also recommend you use Google Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox, and disable pop-up blockers before you start.

How can I prepare for the online assessments?

The online assessments are bespoke to Accenture and give our candidates an opportunity to learn more about Accenture and the way we work, as well as demonstrate their skills. You cannot prepare for the assessments, but we would recommend that you put aside 60 - 90 minutes and complete the assessments somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed.

We suggest that you take the opportunity to join our weekly live digital chat sessions available to all candidates at this stage in the recruitment process. These sessions aim to provide an overview of the Online Assessments and we’ll answer as many questions as we can. You will be sent all the information required to join the session of your choice. Don’t worry if you can’t make the live chat sessions, when you log into your online assessment, a detailed tutorial will be available.

Are the online assessments timed?

No, our online assessments are not timed, and you can take as long as feels comfortable. We anticipate assessments will take approximately 60-90 minutes and although the assessment is time recorded, the time taken does not factor in the final result.

We would recommend you complete the assessments in one sitting. If your internet connection fails during the assessment, when you are able to access the assessment again, you will be able to pick up where you left off.

What is a Task Based Interview?

The task based interview is an online interview with a recruiter where you will be asked to consider work based scenarios, and discuss with a recruiter how you would respond in the situation.  We are interested to find out more about your working style or how you might overcome a client challenge.  You will also have an opportunity to demonstrate your interest in technology by discussing how Accenture use innovative technology with our clients.  Detailed information on how to prepare for your task based interview will be provided at that stage however we do recommend joining our weekly live digital chat sessions available to all candidates at this stage in the recruitment process for information and guidance.

Can I choose when I attend the task based interview?

Yes, you can choose a date and time that suits you. However, we would advise booking at your earliest convenience, as our start dates and programmes can fill up very quickly.

What is the dress code for the virtual task based interview?

Although your task based interview is virtual, you will be on camera throughout so it is important to dress as you would if you were attending our office. The dress code is business-casual. Also, remember that your background can be seen by your recruiter so ensure it is tidy and appropriate for the assessment.

What will happen in the Business Interview?

If you are successful at the Task Based Interview stage, you will be progressed to an in person Business Interview with a Manager from our business.  This interview will be strengths based, and last approximately 40-50 minutes after which you will have an opportunity to ask question about the role and life at Accenture.  We use a strengths based approach to explore a candidate’s natural strengths and what motivates them. Detailed information on how to prepare for your business interview will be provided at that stage however we do recommend joining our weekly live digital chat sessions available to all candidates at this stage in the recruitment process for information and guidance.

WORKING AT ACCENTURE

Where will I be based?

On our website it will state which office location the programme is based. Our main office locations are Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, or Newcastle.  Please only apply for your location of choice.  If you are successful in securing an offer, you will only be offered a role in the office you applied for.

Regardless of office location, the majority of our programmes involve travelling to client sites and can involve staying away from home for long periods of time, so flexibility is essential.

Can I work remotely?

Accenture is a people-first business which thrives on collaboration, knowledge sharing and building strong connections. Whilst there may be times where it is necessary to work from home, in order to feel fully integrated we expect that you work in-person on client site or your nearest home office at least 3 times a week or up to 5 days a week based on business demand.

What will my first client project be?

Each experience and project will be unique to you. Most of our graduates are immediately placed on client projects and get stuck in straight away, others work on internal projects first. Ours is an industry that’s driven by client demand. This means that we have to place people in the industries and geographies where our clients need them most. So, as well as being flexible, an open mind, coupled with patience and adaptability are a real bonus. Whatever your experience, you can guarantee that your contribution will be making an impact on world-changing projects for our clients and our business.

How long is a project at Accenture?

Due to the size and scope of our business, this really does vary! Your project may last only a couple of months, which means you learn about different clients and industries, or it could last for over a year, giving you in-depth knowledge in a particular area. Spending a long time on a project is not a bad thing – you could see the project develop from beginning to end and you’ll become a vital asset to the team, as you get to know your client really well. An open mind and flexible attitude is really important, as you may not initially be placed in an industry you first thought of.

What if I don’t enjoy my project?

You can always take something from every role and if it’s not what you expected, try to see it as a crucial learning opportunity. All projects and roles are important and aim to develop you into a trusted and successful professional in your area of expertise. Sometimes it’s not until later in your career, that you realise the value of each experience, when it comes in useful at an unexpected time. That being said, you should always strive to be open with your line manager, team, and People Lead, as their role is to support your learning and development at Accenture.

What training can I expect when I join?

All new joiners will have an Orientation and Induction with a key focus on getting to know Accenture and access to support networks. This will be followed by further bespoke training specific to the role. You’ll then be ready for your first project where you can hit the ground running as you get to know your team.

At Accenture we encourage continuous learning and development. Your People Lead will support you and help you plan what training courses and certifications to complete. You will also have access to all of Accenture’s online learning resources.

How long are the graduate programmes?

At Accenture, everybody's journey is unique and as diverse as you are. Training, development, progression, and promotion is all about you as an individual. On average our graduates remain in the programme for 24 - 36 months before promotion, however time spent on the programme will be different for everyone.

What can I do to prepare before my start date?

Our onboarding team will be in touch with details on any specific actions you need to take before your start date such as sending us any documentation we need on record. During onboarding, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with Accenture and learn more about the role, work and culture. There are also optional training modules available, as well as information to help you upskill before you join to help you feel job ready!
